About jamun
Jamun is a seasonal Indian fruit with dark purple skin, juicy flesh and a distinctive sweet, astringent taste. It has a long history in traditional Indian cooking and Ayurveda, and is sought after by Indian diaspora and wellness buyers.
Why freeze-dried
Jamun's season lasts only a few weeks and the fruit spoils within days. Freeze-drying lets buyers enjoy it all year, with the colour and flavour of fresh fruit and no added sugar.
How buyers use it
- Ayurvedic and wellness blends
- Drinks, juices and smoothie powders
- Ice cream, kulfi and desserts
- Diaspora grocery retail packs
Sourcing and season
We buy fresh jamun during its short summer season, when it is widely available in Karnataka markets, and process it within a day of purchase.
Packing and storage
We supply food-grade, moisture-proof bulk packs and retail-ready pouches, including private label. Keep packs sealed in a cool, dry place. Once opened, reseal tightly, because freeze-dried food absorbs moisture from the air. Full specifications and certificates are shared with every quote.
Questions
Is the seed included?
No. We remove the seed and dry only the flesh and skin. Ask us if you need seed powder separately.
Do you make health claims?
No. Jamun is traditionally valued in Ayurveda, but we sell it as a food ingredient and make no medical claims.
What is the minimum order?
Minimum order quantities depend on the format and packing. We start with sample orders, and include MOQs with every quote.
