About Bangalore Blue grapes
Bangalore Blue is a dark, aromatic grape with a bold, musky flavour, grown for generations in the countryside around Bengaluru. It holds a Geographical Indication, and almost all of the crop is currently used for juice and wine.
Why freeze-dried
Turning Bangalore Blue into a freeze-dried snack gives buyers a genuinely new product with a protected origin story. We halve the grapes before drying so they dry evenly and become light and crunchy.
How buyers use it
- Gourmet and heritage snack packs
- Gift hampers and specialty retail
- Granola, chocolate and dessert inclusions
- Grape powder for drinks and baking
Sourcing and season
We buy from grape growers around Devanahalli and Chikkaballapur, close to our base in Bengaluru.
Packing and storage
We supply food-grade, moisture-proof bulk packs and retail-ready pouches, including private label. Keep packs sealed in a cool, dry place. Once opened, reseal tightly, because freeze-dried food absorbs moisture from the air. Full specifications and certificates are shared with every quote.
Questions
Do the grapes have seeds?
Yes. Bangalore Blue is a seeded variety. The seeds become crunchy after drying, or we can supply powder.
What does GI-tagged mean?
A Geographical Indication protects a product's link to its region, like Champagne or Darjeeling tea. Only grapes from the Bangalore Blue region can use the name.
What is the minimum order?
Minimum order quantities depend on the format and packing. We start with sample orders, and include MOQs with every quote.
